Mining in Uganda occurs on dry lands, in forests and wetlands, while some oil and gas projects are in national parks and protected areas. This can disrupt ecosystems critical for human survival as well as the biodiversity on which these ecosystems depend

Our Work

ACEMP works with communities to secure their land rights and engages mining companies on community sensitive
procedures of acquiring surface rights in order for mining projects not to destabilise functional ecosystems and disrupt
communities’ way of life

Our Target

Work with communities living in or around resource rich areas to restore abandoned pits and plant 10,000 trees by 2026
