This project is jointly implemented with Optima Mines and Minerals Ltd, the Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines and National Planning Authority. It seeks to facilitate a productive partnership between Government of Uganda, Mine Operators and Exporters of Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten and Gold (3TGs), Artisanal and Small-scale Miners (ASMs) of 3TGs and Civil Society Organisations to collectively promote and oversee the implementation of a successful Responsible Mineral Supply Chain from the mine site through to the point of export.
This project’s goal is to have a well-governed mining sector where the designated conflict minerals are contributing towards the sustainable development of Uganda. It will prepare mine site operators and mineral exporters to undertake responsible mineral supply chains and in so doing will open opportunities for them to access commodity markets and capital financing.
