Stakeholder Engagement

ACEMP works with all project beneficiaries and development partners on needs analysis and scoping studies for priority areas of intervention. All project initiatives and activities are incubated out of consulting with stakeholders from government, civil society, local governments, local communities and the mining industry and sector experts.

Integrated, Complementary and Tailored Activities

ACEMPS’s program integrates multiple activities that are agreed with key stakeholders and project beneficiaries and tailored to meet their priority needs. ACEMP’s activities complement other energy, minerals and development activities and initiatives within the country. ACEMP intergrates regional and international industry best practices and tools promoting responsible and sustainable extractive sector development.

Efficient and Effective

ACEMP delivers high quality capacity building activities that deliver value for money outcomes for beneficiaries and development partners. It operates efficiently and effectively in an environment of full transparency accountability and involvement of our local and international development partners.

Research and Training Focus

As Extractive Industries Centre of Excellence and Research, ACEMP’s activities focus on the core organisational strengths in research, knowledge formation, education and training and institutional partnerships to build human capacity and to strengthen institutions overseeing the extractive sector. ACEMP engages government both at central and local level, industry-based policy and technical capabilities to support development through research, and advice to stakeholders. It harnesses the wide knowledge and skills within the organisation and country to access leading practice across all themes and activities.

Sub-national governance of the mining sector

Outcome: Enhancement of governance capacity at local and regional levels involving multiple stakeholders. Focused on: local accountability; understanding and monitoring of mining operations; capacity to manage agreement negotiation and implementation processes.

High Ethical Standards

ACEMP applies high standards of ethics and probity to all of its activities and advocates similar standards in mining governance.
