Acomai Isabella holds a BA in Mass Communication from Uganda Christian University, Mukono. She also holds a certificate in Media Development from the Deutsche Welle Media Africa training in Uganda and a MOOC in oil and gas – from exploration to development.
Isabella has undergone training in conflict sensitive journalism by USAID and SAFE. She is an Alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Centre-Nairobi. She also completed a year-long mentoring program in planning and business management as a 2018 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur.
Isabella also took part in data collection and analysis during the Development of a National Overview of the Artisanal and Small scale Gold Mining Sector in Uganda (NEMA 2018-19); she also played a role in the data collection and documentation during the Analysis and Development of Knowledge Products for the Development Minerals Sector in Uganda (UNDP 2020).
Isabella currently conducts trainings and sensitization on different emerging issues in the mining sector such as; formalization, community engagement, revenue collection and management across different mining sites in the country. She has conducted sensation of Artisanal and Small scale Miners on formalization and the Biometric Registration processes and successfully demystified the myths and negative perceptions about the formalization of ASMs.
