Achom Martha holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication at Makerere University, and as a communications major, acquired skills such as public speaking, coordination and mobilization, research and monitoring, data collection among others.
She also acquired training in Advanced Guidance and Counselling which enables her to communicate with and understand community behaviour at a grassroots level.
Martha is currently serving as a Programs Officer-Research, Monitoring and Documentation at the Africa Centre for Energy and Mineral Policy (ACEMP), where she has amassed a wealth of experience in reporting, community relations, writing, public speaking among others.
She has contributed towards the production of ACEMP’s publications like the series of “The Mining Digest.” She has also participated in data collection for the 2019 Scorecard, an annual production with the National Planning Authority, and the Mapping Study for all mining and quarrying of low value minerals and Materials, and 3TGs
She has also participated in building Artisanal and Small scale Miner (ASM) capacities in preparation for Government initiatives for the ASM sub sector like, the Biometric Registration of Artisanal and Small scale Miners (BRASM) and key issues in the Regional Certification Mechanism (RCM).
