He holds a Master of Science (Mineral and Energy Econom¬ics) from Curtin University, Western Australia and Bachelors Degree in Law from Makerere University. He is a 2016 Fellow of the Emerging Leaders in Africa Mining Program (ELAM), and is a mining alumnus of the Internation¬al Mining For Development Centre (IM4DC) – Australia. He is a seasoned mineral and energy policy analyst and has worked with the World bank and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. He is also the Chairman, International Conference on the Great Lakes Region.


Byaruhanga Chris

He holds a BA in Environmental Management from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Uganda Management Institute. He also has a Certificate in Mining and Regional Development from the University of Western Australia and has received hands-on training in Extractives Governance and Sustainable Development at the University of Columbia, City of New York. Chris has been a central player in civil society efforts advocating for a sustainably managed extractives sector in Uganda for the past five years. He is a 2015 Fellow of the Mandela Washington Young African Leaders Initiative.

She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration majoring in Financial Management, a Certified Public Accountants Certificate of Uganda (CPA) from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). She also holds a Kenya Accounting Technician Certificate (KATC) from Kenya Accounting and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB).


Pearl Arigye

Programs Officer; Natural Resource Governance

She holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from Kyambogo University, Kampala, Uganda. She also holds a Certificate in Governance of Oil, Gas and Mining Revenues from the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) Summer School in Accra, Ghana and has undergone professional trainings which include Project Planning and Management.

She holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Mass Communication from Uganda Christian University, Mukono. She also holds a certificate in Media Development from the Deutsche Welle Media Africa training in Uganda and has undergone training in conflict sensitive journalism by USAID and SAFE. She is an Alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Centre-Nairobi.
